The Revolution Hotel was recently featured on “Chronicle,” Boston’s long-standing acclaimed news show on WCVB, Channel 5. Bruce Percelay of The Mount Vernon Company and Rachel Charles of The Revolution Hotel provided an intimate tour of the recently renovated space.
Kaplan Construction provided construction management services for the project, converting the former hostel and YWCA at 40 Berkeley Street into a 163 unit urban boutique hotel. Over the two year-long project, Kaplan renovated guest rooms, bathrooms, and common areas throughout the seven-story, 77,000 SF building. The hotel proudly showcases the city’s fabled history through a modern and eclectic lens – the bar, for example, is made from a century-old Back Bay elm tree and the lobby features a Boston-themed “Innovation Tower” adorned with objects invented in Massachusetts. The hotel opened to the public in December 2018.
