Kaplan Construction Welcomes Bill Slaney as Operations Manager

BOSTON – October 3, 2017 – Kaplan Construction, a WBE general contractor and construction management firm providing comprehensive building programs across Greater Boston, announced today that Bill Slaney has joined the firm as operations manager. In this role, Bill will oversee all field operations; project schedules, site logistics plans, safety program, and quality control. He will be tasked with reviewing drawings and contract documents; participating in project start-up meetings; reviewing estimates for manpower and equipment needs, safety procedures, and alternative methods of construction; managing staff with schedules, construction methods, policies, and standards; and assisting with monthly project analysis, cash flow, and schedule reports. Bill will also serve as the company’s safety director.

Bill brings extensive industry experience having worked fifteen years at Turner Construction. He served many roles at Turner, including project controls/scheduling manager, MEP engineer, field engineer, project superintendent, and, most recently, general superintendent. During his time he was involved in several high-profile projects, including the Chase Center at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD); the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Investment Management Company (MITIMCo); the New England Aquarium’s Giant Ocean Tank; Massachusetts General Hospital Paul S. Russell, M.D. Museum of Medical History and Innovation; and the Massachusetts General Hospital Lunder Building.

Bill earned a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from the Wentworth Institute of Technology, holds Massachusetts, Boston, Cambridge, and Quincy Construction Supervisors Licenses, and is OSHA certified.
